Becca Set To Release An All-Female Album Soon
Becca has revealed plans of releasing an album featuring her fellow female artistes only.
She hinted that the all-female album is aimed toward inspiring and inspiring her fellow female artistes within the country to forge ahead and pursue their dreams.
Additionally, she said the album would give exposure to budding female musicians.
“I’m performing on my last album. Yes, my very, previous album. This last album is really an all-female album. Being a lady within the industry, it’s sometimes really tough,” the ‘African Woman’ hitmaker said on CNN African Voices.
She reiterated that after the discharge of that album, she wouldn’t be involved in music actively.
The ‘You Lied To Me’ hitmaker, who was featured on CNN alongside Niniola, Mr. Eazi et al. , shared with the host Atit Okpo her story, including her success and struggles while trying to form a reputation for herself within the music industry.
“Music is usually gonna be there. Don’t catch on wrong. I’m always gonna do music. However, I’m not gonna be actively recording within the studio at 5:00am and every one that,” she said.
Becca disclosed that the break from active music would afford her the chance to specialise in other projects.
The Afro-pop artiste, who features a number of hit songs to her credit, released her first studio album ‘Sugar’ in 2007 and it earned her five nominations at the 2008 Ghana Music Awards.
The album’s lead song ‘You Lied to Me’ won record of the year at the2008 Ghana Music Awards.
She has won variety of awards which include Kora Award, National Youth Achievers Award, Ghana Music Awards and 4Syte TV Music Video Awards.
In 2013, she headlined the annual ‘Girl Talk’ concert which started in 2011.
She has performed at variety of musical events like MTN’s Heroes of Change, Ghana Music Awards and Ghana Meets Naija UK.
